The Petit Le Mans Disaster: How IMSA/Tudor Got It All Wrong

The racing media sphere has been buzzing since last Saturday over the incredible end to Risi Competizione's race and season at Petit Le Mans. If you haven't heard the story by now, here it is in a nutshell: the Risi Comp 458 Italia was hit, while stopped for a red light at the pit lane exit, by one of the factory Porsches. The Ferrari was knocked out of the race but the Porsche managed to continue (as did a Corvette which also became involved). At the time the No.62 was hit, it was leading. Now, other outlets are zeroing in on the story. Here's Marshall Pruitt's very thorough piece on the accident, published on the RACER magazine website.
